Look at three clues

Three real things you've seen before. Tap each one.

A wet shirt on a sunny line goes dry.

Water leaves the shirt — but where does it go?

A cold glass has tiny droplets on the outside.

Water from the air sticks to the cold glass.

Clouds turn dark, then it rains.

Something inside the cloud falls back down.

What's really happening

Water heats up and rises as tiny invisible drops — **evaporation**. High up it cools into droplets and forms clouds — **condensation**. When the drops get heavy they fall as rain — **precipitation**.

Water never really vanishes — it just becomes invisible for a while, then comes back as rain.
